This eight-lead cable is commonly referred to as an "octopus" or "octal" cable. Diablo Hardware maintains inventory of the octal cable in many lengths. Each lead or "tentacle" of the "octopus" cable ends in a male DB-25 connector. The other end, or base, of the cable has the 68-pin connector. The octal cable may be used in the Cisco access server series 2509 through Cisco 2512. In addition, this octal cable connects to the Cisco NM-16A and NM-32A network modules.
