2600XM Series Routers
The Cisco 2600XM Series Routers are the follow-on release to the original Cisco 2600 Series Routers. These are high-performance routers with more than double the memory capacity and processing speed of the prior 2600 series. 2600XM Series Routers are a great fit for medium to large offices that have more robust processing needs including voice and network switching services.
The 2610XM, 2620XM, and 2650XM all have one 10/100 Fast Ethernet Port, while the 2611XM, 2621XM, and 2651XM all have two 10/100 Fast Ethernet Ports. As you climb the ladder starting with the 2610XM, the processor speed increases. The 2650XM and 2651XM are the two fastest XM series routers and consider high-performance.
We often see customers package these 2600XM series routers with voice network modules including the NM-HD-2V and Voice Interface Cards like the VIC2-4FXO for Voice Over IP (VOIP) Solutions. Another popular add-on is the NM-16ESW, which adds (16) 10/100 Fast Ethernet Ports and the NM-16ESW-PWR which has Power Over Ethernet (POE) for the 16 Ports. If you need the router to have two additional WIC slots for expansion, then you'll need the NM-2W. If you're getting a T3 line for 45 Mbps of throughput, you'll be looking at the NM-1T/E3.
